IT can be VERY overwhelming to determine what you need for your hair. My goal is to break it down (not just on the dance floor) to clear things up for you!
HAIR THERMIQUE:
A HEAT ACTIVATED leave in product designed to be thermally activated (aka works only when you blowdry it into your hair). Kérastase currently has four thermiques to choose from:
Ciment Thermique
Who: For damaged, brittle hair (low key when your hair feels ‘fried’ and chemically damaged from lightning )
Technology : Vita-Ciment – Rebuilds from the INSIDE OUT
Pro’s: Reinforces the hair, strengthens existing damaged hair, protects up to 180c, anti-frizz, great for all hair types, and nourishing.
Winner: the MOST repair you will get from a thermique
*you don’t need this product if you don’t have damage from lightners or chemicals.
Keratine Thermique
Who: FRIZZY, Fly away, challenging to style hair (dry AF thick hair)
Technology: Ceramide 1,000 (intense nourishment)
Pro’s: Protects up to 180c, anti frizz, nourishing, accelerated blowdry, seals the cuticle, releases amazing shine!
Winner : The most anti frizz out of all the thermiques
*You don’t need this product if you have fine hair, it will be way to heavy!
Nectar Thermique
Who: For DRY, dull and tough to de tangle hair. MECHANICAL (hiii hot tools) damage
Technology : IRIS Royal (intense moisture and shine!)
Pro’s : Protection up to 180c, Extremely nourishing, lots of shine, leaves hair very soft and frizz free, speeds up blowdry time
Winner: The most nourishing! Helps with tangly hair!
*This product is great for ALL hair types!
Extentioniste Thermique
Who: Trying to grow hair long, split ends, breakage on lengths and ends
Technology : Creatine-Tourine (Strengthens from the OUTSIDE in)
Pros: Heat protection up to 230c, Reinforces hair preventing breakage, stops split ends, light weight, seals the cuticle, high shine
Winner: The MOST sealing and the highest thermo protection. Our Personal Pomme Favourite (AMAZING for long blonde hair!)
*Use Ciment Thermique if hair feels really damaged, and then move onto this thermique once inside of hair is repaired!
HAIR OILS WITH HEAT PROTECTION:
Heat styling isn’t always an option with a blowdryer but it is always nice to know we have heat protection in our hair for our heat styling, or the occasional blowout! – For the daily air dryers or day 2 (or 3, 4, 5, 6) heat stylers we curated a list of Kérastase hair oils that will leave your hair nourished, revitalized AND protected (if need be!)
Oleo Relax Oil
Who: Frizzy, dry. dull , static prone hair, unruly and hard to manage
Technology: Morpho-Huiles ( combination of four different oils; Virgin coconut oil, Shorea butter oil, Inca oil, Rosa Muscata Fruit oil)
Pros: Controls Frizz, smooth, detangles, leaves hair very hydrated and shiny.
Winner: The most control and deepest moisture out of all the oils
*Don’t use on fine hair will be to heavy!
Chronologist Oil
Who : Dry, dull hair
Technology : Blend of Tea Rose, Light woods and musk with an oleo extract of Myrrh. Leaves hair wrapped in a luxurious fragrance.
Pros: Designed by perfume expert ; Alberto Morillas. Leaves hair very shiny and nourished
Winner : Relaxing fragrance, intense shine
*if you do not like products so smell i do not reccomend this one!
Original Elixir
Who: Anti Frizz, dry dull hair lacking hydration
Technology: Combination of 5 precious oils (Marula, Camellia, Corn Oil, Pracaxi, + Argan)
Pros: Hair is restored with antioxidants, Vitamin C + D, hair fibre is smoothed and protected from further damage.
Winner: Extremely Versatile, instantly transforms hair.
*If you are new to oils, this is a great starter!
Rose Elixir
Who: Colour treated hair, dry, dull hair.
Technology: Combination of 4 precious oils (Marula oil, Cemllia oil, Corn germ oil, Pracaxi oil) + imperial tea extract (This enhances the colour!)
Pros : Hair colour is restored, shiny and revitalized. Leaves hair nourished shiny and protected.
Winner: Enhanced colour protection.
*This is the only oil with colour PROTECTION (however, all oils are colour safe)
Reach for an oil over a thermique if you do NOT blowdry your hair regularly!
Bi-Phase Hair Mist
Who: Anti frizz, FINE hair, senitized hair, tangly hair, hair lacking volume.
Technology: Intra-Cylane (a thickness booster, plumps up each individual hair to make fuller thicker hair) + 4 precious oils( Marula, Camellia, Corn Germ oil + Pracaxil)
Pros: Spray oil is amazing for fine hair, doesn’t hair hair down, strengthens and repairs with benefits of a traditional oil, light weight, detangles.
Winner: SPRAY, light weight and strengthener
