Hey Pommeshells! My name is Nicole and I am the Founder, President, CEO, and all of the things that are behind the name of a small business owner!
When I first created the concept for Pomme I wanted to have a collective space where stylists could work in an environment that empowered them to be creative behind the chair, yet have the systems and tools in place in order be be able to grow and have a profitable successful career behind the chair without compromising their craft! Beyond the salon I wanted to create a community for our clients. A space each and every person feels safe to be themselves, express their individuality and to come and learn HOW to create looks at home, how to care for their hair and how to find a beauty routine that works for them and their lifestyle! A space for education, where there is no judgement and where clients feel empowered to feel their best! I always wanted to grow that Pommeshell community outside of the walls of Pomme Salon inc and Pommesalon.ca has given me the platform to do so!
A natural born leader, I have always migrated towards leadership roles, in fact when I was just about seventeen years old I was the head of the complaints department at our local Canadian Tire Store!
I never thought I was one of those ‘ I dreamt of being a stylist’ stylists, but looking back I was kind of obsessed with hair product, and doing hair, I can remember trying to foil hair with box dye in my friends bathroom, so I think i wanted to be a stylist without really knowing it!
5 fun facts about me!
- I grew up in a small town, Smithers, with only 5,000 people!
- I cut my own bangs once with pinking shears and I don’t recommend it.
- I once traveled to DUBAI for 3 nights
- I’ve been sky diving and bungee jumping yet I am TERRIFIED on heights
- If i had to choose one other career it would be a popstar! (also if i could sing!)
One other fact about me, is that I actually have extremely challenging and less than ideal hair! I have VERY fine, half curly limp hair, and growing up I was always so envious of my sisters and my friends with their thick lucious hair! It was incredibly frustrating to go to a salon and receive a terrible cut that I had NO idea how to style! My first job, at Pharmasave, I would read the labels of hair products for hours, again I should have known I wanted to be a stylist! I was so determined to learn HOW to properly do my hair. This was always a big driver for me as a stylist, I KNOW the feeling of feeling frustrated and at a loss with your hair, and I can honestly say it does affect self confidence! I made it my goal to always educate and teach the client the WHY behind hair! WHY a colour may or may not work for their hair type, and what they can expect between appointments, WHY a specific hair product will or won’t work.. And HOW to get a stye that can actually be replicated at home!
I have grown to be very passionate about homecare education for my guests, and creating looks in salon that work for the clients’ hair, hair type, budget and goals! I specialize in blonde hair and am known for my ‘transparent’ real talk in my consultations! I really want to educate the client!
I have grown to absolutely LOVE my hair because I have an excellent haircut and use products that work for me!!
Beyond hair, running a business and launching a blog and ecommerce site I LOVE spending time with my friends and family, enjoying the Okanagan Valley where I love, and I have been known to frequent the local wineries and sip local! I would choose a beach vacation over anything else, and I can cut up the dance floor pretty good (or so I would like to think!)

I am blonde so I need to tone my hair about once a week or so and I am really liking the colour lustre from shu right now because it just cuts out the brass perfectly! I also love the Kérastase Blond Absolu Ultra Violet Masque and CC blonde from L’Oreal Pro!

This is my FAVOURITE product of all time!! My hair has honestly never felt better. It promotes MORE hair to grow from the follicle and healthier hair on your lengths and ends! I have very fine hair and i use it everytime i shower and since it absorbs into my scalp
5. L’Oreal Professionnel Tecni Art – Super Dust
This is an incredible product because its non aerosol and you can just tap it into your hair for added texture and volume! It doesn’t dry out the hair and it is great for all hair types! You get volume, texture and movement without that sticky finish!
