Keeping our blonde hair healthy is challenging when we have full access to our stylist, toner, products and all the things. It is more important than ever that we keep our blonde (and all hair) healthy and strong, so it’s in the best condition it can be when we can finally return to the salon (my favourite place). How can we do this during isolation and quarantine?
If you have highlights or global blonde we will likely be dealing with extended regrowth corrections which means we may have to perform multiple steps in order to get you back in action, so we need your help in preparing your hair for this!
Below are my tips to healthy hair at home! P.S. they are easy don’t worry 🙂
1. DO NOT GO TO SLEEP WITH WET HAIR!!!
Wrap your hair in the Pommeshell Turban, remove all excess moisture and then braid it with your night cream. Ideally would be to do your braids on fully dry hair!
When our hair is wet it is the most vulnerable and weak, so when we sleep and it rubs on our pillow our cuticle is blasted open and that is how we get breakage and rough dry hair!
2. Maintain your routine
Don’t fall out of your home-care routine! Keep applying your products daily and keep your hair moisturized and hydrated. The Kérastase Blond Absolu Cicaplasme Leave In Treatment will tick all your boxes in one product. Great for air drying but has heat protection in case you do dry, will leave hair silky smooth, shiny and soft without weighing it down!
3. Tuck the tools away
Use this time to avoid heat styling. Let’s just embrace our natural hair, apply your air dry products and wrap it up in your towel, or a top knot and avoid heat styling! You will be shocked how fast your hair starts to feel better when you’re avoiding constant heat styling!
Our favourite air dry products : Shu Uemura Essence Absolue All-In-Oil Hair Milk (amazing detangler as well!) L’Oreal Professionnel Hollywood Waves Siren Waves Cream (leaves hair hydrated juicy and protected) Pureology Style + Protect Beach Waves Sugar Spray (wont dry hair out but has enough texture for a beachy finish, great to cocktail with your leave in spray! )
4. Don’t worry about excessive washing!
Push your hair an extra day or two, but don’t forget to brush it! Use your night cream daily (it has a slow release that release moisture every 2 hours!) and brush your hair to ensure all the oils and natural oils are evenly distributed.
5. Let it down!
Try not to have it tied up 24/7 ( I know, easier said than done) but if you do have to tie it up make sure your using a Cynthea Jo Scrunchie or Bobble! And keep it wrapped all in one direction!
